Notes About The Poem

Barbie and Ken

In a world of opinions and plastic, answers to questions become bendable .. Stretching every which way, when elastic We have Barbie and Ken, that are able In a world of, all for me, some for you Stretching in all ways, being elastic .. Barbie says this, Ken has a point of view which causes division, so much static In a world of fairness, wrong verses right Stretching in ways that is so dramatic, views being unmatched, the pulling is tight .. tension exists, in a world of plastic Barbie and Ken tangle each point of view In a world of, all for me, some for you

Just a little scribble huh? This has some deep important truths. This world is full of “all for me, some for you”.

Jennifer, you and your thoughts are appreciated. I am still confused at why so many act this way. My best to you. ~ Brandy

Reminds me of situations where I seem to be pulled in one direction or another. Good poetry evokes feelings in the reader as well as the author.

People are becoming more selfish, the I has become so important in relationships - perhaps the women because they have been kept down for too long, and perhaps the men because they have been conditioned to think that women should listen, that we we are not individuals and unique. - lets agree that we are a couple, and share, you and me together, we will decide. Maybe Barbie and Ken will take notice from their plastic world and hear us. Hug, kisses Jennifer - a powerful poem Brandy. Jennifer.

So much to think about here. Love the 'staccato rhythm' of this sonnet as well. Superb penning, Brandy. Thank you, Gershon

This is a big world, except for most of us it's actually quite small. You have to be flexible to a point or you will snap. Just because someone has a different POV, there is no reason to get all bent out of shape. There are more important things in life, than what a stranger may think.. Deep write, Brandy:)

You are right Daniel. We are just a speck in this great big world. Bending is an exercise. We all move in different ways. Such an insightful comment. Thank you. I appreciate your reading this little scribble of mine. My best to you. :) Brandy

Give me someone with flesh and bones and a real soul, not a plastic icon of idealism. The 'all for me, some for you' mentality is what prevents real dialogue and relationship from happening. Better to be 'all for us'. Love your sonnet, Brandy. Thought provoking.

Exactly. Always be "real" That's not a difficult request. I completely agree with this "all for us" Yes, this is the way it should be. Thank you John for your wonderful comment, for your support. I appreciate you and your friendship. Your kind words. Hugs, Brandy

I am trying to decipher the message behind your poem my friend. Yet, it describes give and take of the world you live in. May there be peace always, everywhere.

Well written Brandy, with a clear message to think about, it seems to have become a selfish world with no one willing to compromise. Tom

I will ponder these words today, Brandy. Sometimes it seems the world today is “all for me, none for you.” No one seems to be willing to compromise, to find a middle ground. I don’t think we will ever know peace and harmony; that seems to be the current state of human nature. Nicely written my dear friend. Hugs, John

Such an insightful comment. Thank you John. I ponder these thoughts as well. The sad truth is- we are experiencing this in our reality, but also in our World of Words. In Poetry. What happened to compromise and understanding ? You and your thoughts are appreciated. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy
