Barbagello Raceway

Barbagello Raceway.

We live in a place
Just up from the track
Barbagello raceway it be
The cars and the bikes
They race there all day
And this is exciting to me.

Every weekend
They gear up their motors
Making din that disturbs all around
But me, I just love it
Oh, I really I do
From these races such joy can be found.

The wonderful roar
That these motors create
Oh, how it thrills me to bits
Bikes are my favourites
But I love the cars too
I adore it, I love all of it.

When weekend is over
Everything goes so quiet
Until the next time comes along
And me, I can’t wait
I love it, it’s great
The noise makes my heart sing a song

Vera very well done work on this one, and you say your not a good writer well this poem in it's self proves you wrong my lady. Great job bravo, and yes i also love the sound of racing machines, where I grew up every street there was a garage, and men working on some kind of motor something or other including my dad and brothers. I was not aloud to help though my dad believe women should be bare foot and with child. But he changed his mind lol after raising me I gave him little chose. cheri

Thank you so much Robert, yes we were the same in our younger years. I was raised with a Dad and two brothers who were into motor bike racing so I spent a lot of my younger years at the track but like you I haven't been for years even though we only live up the road from it all, regards to the wife and take care my friend.............Vera..........

Hi Vincent, yes it s a shame when the weekend is over, but here there is something on every weekend, in fact my brother rides sidecar motor bikes and he is up there this weekend, too noisy for me to go and watch, but yes it is quite exciting, used to go a lot years ago. Take care..................Vera............

Such a lovely write, Vera! Somehow reminds me of H. Robbins "The Betsy" where the roaring cars played a big part in opening sequence. // paul

Hi Paul, funny you should mention the name Robbins but my maiden name is Robbins, no relation to Harold though.LoL. yes it can be quite fun up at the Racetrack but we don't go any more as it is too noisy, it is bad enough hearing it where we live thank you for commenting. Take care and regards to your wife.....................Vera................

Yes Tim it does give you a bit of a buzz, we used to go quite a lot because my brother races bikes but not these days as they are very noisy, it is bad enough hearing it from where we live. Thank you so much for the comment. Take care...................Vera............
