Banquet

The night to remember of this elegant night.
The music, the noise, the sound.
Oh, what a wonderful sight.
Oh, look at what I found.

Today everyone is dressed up.
The guys look so handsome and great.
Toasting with our champagne cup.
Eating off a circular plate.

Everyone is up and dancing.
Arms in one place, feet tapping the floor.
Turning my head toward the dance floor, just glancing.
Teachers pushing the parents out the door.

Viewing the slide show,
Oh, how sad.
It is our time to go,
What a great time we had.

Leaving the banquet hall.
Trying to forget.
Hoping tears won’t fall,
Because we are all upset.
