Bang, Bang, Bang

It’s the rain
Incessantly pounding
On a tin rooftop,

It’s the veins
Throbbing
Inside your head
On a dingy afternoon,

It’s the kitchen door,
On the floor beneath you,
Being slammed
Again and again,

It’s the rhythm,
The rhythm of a heartbeat,
Prompted by feelings
Of anxiety,
Of adrenaline,
Of passion,
Of love

And of life.

Bang,

Bang,

Bang,

Bang,

Bang.
