Balm In Gilead

Dear God In the sundry scatterness of truth And the sultry pillage of the brute Bind me up again In swaddling rags And burial ointment for the pain. For through death I shall approach my birth Better than a resurrection Of lilies From the immortal bulb Of only faith Dear God Let me be consumed in you.
