Balance

Sometimes you can’t love
Those whom you admire
It is like water and fire
One cools you off when
You are burned by desire
The other warms you up
When you are frozen
In icy waters of feeling
Empty and void of passion
You need both to balance
The opposing feelings
Swaying you in extremes
Of your emotional being
I can’t handle them
Both at the same time
Please give me water
To quench my thirst
And then lit the fire
So, I can keep balance
Of overwhelming feeling
Of love as a burning desire

Yes, balance / equilibrium / the middle path is best... Also, I want you to know that your name, Ruta, means 'Friday' in the Assyrian language. Assyrians say 'Ruta brichta' on Friday. That means: A blessed Friday! Season's best, Gershon
