Bait

everything's always been the same
your pretty face, your puny brain
all along, 'was waiting in vain
now tell me, dear, your claim to fame

you say we both need breathing space
and you say that right in my face
you say all things will be in place
i'm glad that you can paraphrase

you ask me what i was thinking
been through this kind of questioning
and somehow i've seen this coming
then suddenly, there was nothing

tic toc, tic toc, it's half past eight
i'm not the biggest fan of fate
speak now because i'm running late
this love ****, a wonderful bait

I enjoyed reading this most of all because it flows. I have a great weakness for poetry more so when it flows and the words begin to sound like music in the soul. Thank you for sharing.
