Bail Out

King George has spoken
The economy is broken
And he doesn’t know what to do
His financial plan he defends
To bail out his billionaire friends
And put the screws to me and you
It’s time we broke our silence
And showed them some violence
And take the fight to the street
If we’ve come to expect it
And we just accept it
Then we have already been beat.
King George is in a hurry
He is starting to worry
He wants a bailout with no rules
He strongly believes
He and his billionaire thieves
They can play the whole nation for fools
The king’s not in good health
In spite of his wealth
Possibly this is only a rumor
When the surgeons began to cut
The pimple on his butt
They found out it was a brain tumor
The billionaires are thrilled
The middle class have been killed
They will have no regulation
They will be free
To destroy you and me
And enslave the entire nation.

Great rhyme scheme! A most compelling description of our nation's economic and political woes. Well done Vince! Best wishes, and a Happy New Year! Keith

Still I hope america pulls through! The Global repercussions of a massive recession is something terrible for the world so economically entwined to USA. Brgds. George (not the one)

Very well written and very clever. Until the silent majority becomes less silent, nothing will change. It is time to accept accountability, lose the apathy and become involved in that which affects us. Good job. Regards Heidie

Yep! The death of the middle class is at hand. A lot of it is our fault. We need to get hold of healthy values once again. But how to band togehter? I coudn't begin to say. Scares hell out of me. Always enjoy reading your stuff, Vince. Keep tooting your horn. Love, Daver

Greed breeds more greed as power breeds desire for more power, is it not true? And who always suffers--the middle class, of course. This is a very good write, Vince. It gets right to the point, and although I voted for the king, I am very disappointed in many of his decisions. Keep up these excellent "political" poems, Vince. You do good. PJL

how true Vince....i've been writing about this for a coupla years now, only to watch this unfold....hopefully,our elected officials will remedy this situation properly, even tho they're putting the taxpayers on the hook....it's a bit interesting, that this is happening,as Bush is about to walk away and leave it to the next administration....the rich get richer,at the taxpayers expense and account....where is the responsible accountability ?.....peace , jay

OK...well I agree with most of this. This bailout is total baloney!!! Like we're not being squeezed enough...can you say SOCIALISM!!! The bubble has been ready to burst for a couple of years now...I say let it burst and allow the ship to right itself...King George needs & the congress needs to stop writing checks in our blood. My best Vince, Charlie
