Bad News Travels Fast

Bad news likes to travel fast,
Much quicker than the good
And you can’t stop it even if
You pause to knock on wood.

It’s like a snowball, growing as
It barrels down a hill,
Unstoppable and uncontrolled
As oil from a spill.

Through phone or text or face to face
The knowledge makes its rounds,
For once the news is negative
It spreads by leaps and bounds.

Technology can’t take the rap
For even in the past,
When something bad took place, that news
Would always travel fast.

We love the news of someone's blues. We act concerned of what we've learned, but truth be told, we can be cold. It isn't us that we discuss, we keep that to ourselves. We try our best to keep that up on the shelves. Hope all's good. Peace. :) You rocked this one ilene.

It's too bad good news does not travel as quickly. Good topic for your poem, dear!

This is more true today than never before. Bad news travel with the speed of light while bad by the carriage! Beautifully done Ilene!

I don't do social media and I find it quite sad that news like someones death is plastered all over the internet within minutes of it happening - guess I'm just a technological dinosaur LOl hugs jan xxx
