Bad Days Are Like Storms

today was a bad day
i call those my ‘storm days’
i call them this because my bad days remind me of a thunderstorm
like how when it’s actually storming and the thunder booms and then the lightening strikes a couple seconds after
and if you count the seconds between thunder and lightening you can determine how many miles away the lightning is striking
the shorter the seconds means the closer the storm
a lot of the time that’s how i feel
like the thunder in my mind strikes and my whole body shakes
the thunder is the they’d be better off without me’s and the i have no purpose’s
then the lightening follows
the lightning is the uncontrollable tears and the unsteady hands
but after a storm there’s always a blue sky
sometimes it takes my mind days, weeks, or even months to see a blue sky
i haven’t seen one in a while, but i like to think that since it’s taking twice as long for the storm to leave, the blue sky will be twice as wonderful.
