Backstabber

You betrayed me.
I never thought you would.
I was there for you all the time,
I let you talk to me if you needed to,
I let you call me if you needed to.
I cared about you when no one else did.
I ignored the “warnings” that people told me about you.
I defended you when everyone was against you.
It seems you thought that wasn’t enough,
but who else was there?
The one you say was there, clearly wasn’t.
You left me in the dust for no reason.
I’ve never felt so betrayed by someone
who I thought loved me,
as I loved them.
