Notes About The Poem
The form of this piece is anaphora (not in the selection list).

Back to The Mount of Olives

Back to the Mount of Olives
Back to prayer and surrender.
Back to the feet of Jesus
Back to repentance rendered.

Back to a place of brokeness
Back to earnest pleading.
Back to our faces to the ground
Back to see Jesus bleeding.

Back to new consecration
Back to submission and tears.
Back to persevering prayer
Back to reverent fear.

Back to praying against temptation
Back to one hour of prayer.
Back to appalled by a misused kiss
Back to commitment there.

Back to a solitary place
Back to review what your call is.
Back to "fervently seek first His kingdom"
Back to the Mount of Olives.

Dorothy, I can't thank you enough for your comments! If there was one desire I had in writing Back to the Mount of Olives, it was that it would draw people to praise God, and in your case it did!! Praise the Lord! Blessings to you my friend.😄

Tom, your inspiring poem brought me back to center today and reminded me to come back to the center every day! Thank you for that blessing! Be blessed today as you have blessed us with your words! I am making a copy of it and putting it on my desk when I get off-kilter! This would make a wonderful poster!

Sam, thank you so much for writing. Interesting how we create, write, sing from a place of our own needs, desires or even deficiencies first- then we share it in the hope people can connect with it. Back to the Mount of Olives was my realization that I had wandered a long way from the central tenants of devotion to Christ and needed to get back to real prayer, consecration and Christ centeredness. It seemed to me that perhaps others could use the blessings I found...back on the Mount of Olives. Praise God. I am very grateful it meant something to you. Be blessed my friend!

This moved me deeply, Tom, esp. since I've been to the Mt. of Olives, and know some very righteous people interred there. Faith and Strength, Gershon

How I wish I could visit the holy land and see the Mt. of Olives and other amazing sites. Thank you for your comments, Gershon. Grace and peace to you my friend.
