Back To the Future

Face the fact that life is an open book,
Written over a period of time,
And has been penned in prose or with a rhyme,
That kept track, no matter how long it took.
Because you have to take a second look,
Trying to predict life would be a crime,
Since it can change at the drop of a dime,
And it will always have you on the hook.
Live life for the present and for the past,
Since, full circle, the future may bring you.
Life will move forward, but will come back fast,
With something comfortable to cling to.
You are left, from your first day to your last,
Deciding whether or not this rings true.

I must tell you there have been so many diverse poems shared here at PoetrySoup yesterday and this morning that I am just now being able to read. Each one is a treasure to the poet who wrote it. It is a pleasure to me to be able to read them. I am so happy yours was among the ones I have read today Doc. Love, Carol
