Back To Georgia

They say there's a blizzard in Montana
They tell me of a drought in Idaho
I guess I'll just drift on back to Georgia
The peaches will be ripe there now I know

Oh, she was the reason that I wandered
She had the blondest hair I ever saw
But she fell for a smooth talkin' gambler
Just a greasy haired slick from Arkansas

Well I took to drinkin' in the bar rooms
"Go West" they said."There's plenty more to find."
So I started out somewhere in Texas
But long blonde hair was always on my mind

They say there's a blizzard in Montana
They tell me of a drought in Idaho
I guess I'll just drift on back to Georgia
The peaches will be ripe there now I know

I met me a lady out in Utah
But she was born and raised in Ohio
She said she was taught to hate Old Dixie
So I just tipped my hat and let her go

I cowboy'd for awhile down in Reno
A place where gamblin' ain't against the law
All the men I see here in this city
Remind me of that slick from Arkansas

They say there's a blizzard in Montana
They tell me of a drought in Idaho
I guess I'll just drift on back to Georgia
The peaches will be ripe there now I know
