Back To Erin

BACK TO ERIN

I want to go back
to Erin. I want
to see that green
isle again.

I want to drink a pint
of the Guiness and a
shot of the Jamesons. On
that green isle again.

I want to pick the lucky shamrock
and feel the soft summer rain
back, on that green
isle again.

I want to hear the bodhran thump
and the fiddle squeal as I dance
another Ceili on that green isle
again.

I want to hear the tenor croon out
Danny Boy and belt out
Whiskey in the Jar, on that
green isle again.

Next year, when I retire,
I will board that Aer Lingus Airbus
and wing my way back to
that green isle again

Enjoyed your verse Oliver, my folks were from Clare on the west coast, not long back from Kerry and yes the Guinness went down well. Tom.

Thank you Tom. My wife and I did return to Ireland this past summer. Spent time in Northern Ireland and the loop head peninsula and Sligo. The Aran Islands are great as well. The trip leaders grand parents came from County Clare. He still has many relatives there.

Hello Jan, A fellow Irishman!! Next year will mark my third trip. Wont get to Dublin as I have been there twice. This nest trip will be 6 nights in Scotland and 6 nights in Northern Ireland and the north of the Republic. Hope you have fun as well :) May the Road Rise to meet you and may a fair wind be at your back. Hugs Oliver
