Baby Adam

Her emotions went raw her skin showed an aura her features not a flaw. Her moods always changed in her stomach felt a pain She ran at practice in the rain Until her stomach gave a lurch and she became in search Her test showed a plus in pink Her tears fell helplessly into the white sink. She cried in fear and in confusion She prayed every night it was a dream, an allusion. three months later our school began to see her belly change her control that was once over her life disappeared out of her range. I held her hair while she pucked in the early light I helped her eat right and learn to stay strong and fight. My best friend suffered ridicule and rumors for a good 7 months or more She was called so many things, mainly a whore. I helped her locate the father and tell him the news He said "you snooze ya loose." and left.... But I love her to death, even now as she holds 1 year old Adam in her arms I see that a child can be a nightmare but sometimes babies are blessings and charms. For "Mom im pregnant contest" Statistic: Three-quarters of a million teens between 15 and 19 become pregnant each year.

babies definitely will change someone's life completely, and when you are that young, indeed many will scorn at her situation. A sad reality today. It was good she had you as a friend. :) I would suggest that in your 7th couplet, perhaps instead of using "puke", "retched" would be a bit more poetic. Just a suggestion, I hope you don't mind. Enjoyed the read. Good luck in the contest. Caroline.
