Baby

Little orphaned dairy cow
White and black spots
Fed with a bottle, lovingly

Winter's hard freeze
Took you away
The rain's muddy puddle
Frooze you solid
With no mama to guide you away from the danger.

For the orphans in Haiti, and USA and every where,
May God bless you with loving parents...Prayers!!

True story--happened to my sister's calf-so sad.

Go to www.myturnnow.org and see children right here in the usa that need loving parents.

It is really sad what happened, but you penned it very well! I think perhaps you could leave off "away from the danger" without lossing any quality of this greatly written poem.

OH, what a sad little poem. I enjoyed reading it. Glad you found my narrative clear. I am not too adept at doing free verse. they just seem like I am writing stories or something. Doris, CONGRATULATIONS on your victory in the top ten of New Year poems! Luv, andrea
