Awkward Wordings

Awkward Wordings give birth eventually.
The sense and feeling is here, again
 of feeling awkwardness.
The flow of words, its rhythm and rhyme
hold a structure that is stiff
even the hand hesitates to write.
There is a void of expression
a gap and space of emotion
of what came so readily before.
In every pen stroke
 there is holding back
for what just cannot find expression.
It hurts to struggle with the words.
pangs the heart to be inexpressible.
It stifles the thought process
 revealing nothing but blankness
 but most of all
It forces the spirit to lag and flounder in the shadows
at not knowing or being capable
of having something worthwhile to say.
