Quincy Mac Poet Free verse

Aware

AWARE

Observing life as a detailed landscape painting,
Internally analyzing layers pertaining to self before physically applying,
Putting out my thoughts with vocabulary that is rhyming,
A higher goal to always be conscious of my daily climbing,
Climbing higher, elevating with knowledge, passion and natural flow,
Aware of this even when the lawns need mowed,
Appreciating the sun light in the moment while mowing my lawns brings me insight,
These thoughts may feel like they arrive really late,
But I compare them to an experienced oil painters wet paint,
Stop acting like a narrow minded saint and change your method,
Be like a kid, question, mix it up, hit it with trial and error,
I hope your not reading these words thinking I'm a preacher,
Expand your mind to find your mind, your mind is the only true teacher,
An information collector processing it like aware listeners at a TED lecture,
Forgetting about time, going inside the mind with the cure of nurture,
Here's a simple truth, Your the only person in control of your future!
While meditating beside a river called the Clutha,
A spark of truth made me go to and fro for another,
Letting go of the fools distractions, like the game of football,
Finding out my mind is a Buddhists Temple,
Minds out there held back and so simple,
Aware, smiling which reveals my dimples,
I remove my mind from people who are sheeple,
Learning to see all the layers,
Shown to me in order on my internal conveyor,
Never caught up with negative thoughts produced by evil slayers!
