Awakening Dream - I Went To Heaven
I awaken from this dream
To find myself surrounded by light
Where am I? I think to myself
I see my grandparents waiting
They have come to greet me
To guide my way in this place
I see others here as well
So many familiar faces in this lighted space
I try and think of what is happening
I can still hear others chattering
No one speaks but I can hear them
They are talking to me, bringing me back
To a self awareness of myself
Of my surroundings, I realize
I am only the essence of what I was,
My mind reliving every moment
of a life I left behind, no longer
tied to that material self, free to roam
and explore, to learn and to teach
to decide what new path to take,
As I roam I see a figure surrounded by
The brightest of all the brightest light;
It almost hurts to look at it outright
So beautiful, so warm, so inviting
I cannot resist, I must sit and partake
Of the glorious words spoken, of the truth
that can never be broken; of the warmth and
Love that embraces me; and teaches me
that this life is to transform and reform
and move on, leaving all else behind,
As I look more closely I realize that this
Light is the spirit of all that is holy, it tells me
Behold another child of God has arrived.
I bow my head in silence as I feel I do not
deserve to be amongst the blessed,
Immediately the spirit looks at me and says,
I hear your thoughts my child,
All are welcome who will be guided by the word.
