Awakening

Shaking

Shaking violently

Out of control

The wind shatters my solace

breaks through the barriers

awakens my spirit

The dawn is coming

slowly the sun begins to rise

as does the curtain that has been suffocating me

Air enters my lungs

sweet, pure, innocent air...

it surrounds my soul

I can feel it

feel it lifting me up

away from this place

away from solid ground

Wings of love and serenity sprout from within me

I lift off

and I am gone
