Awaken
The night I passed into the light
Just above I saw a glow so very bright
Side by side two men stood before me
Unspoken words, yet my mind could see
I feel the love emanating from their eyes
One turns to the other with a knowing grin
I feel they are able to see my buried sin
Yet still I could feel this consuming love
I hear songs of sweet rejoicing from above
Oh my there are some faces I have missed so
My joy is overwhelming in the heavenly glow
Inner peace enveloping me as I join the crowd
Not one standing seems arrogant or proud
Just simple sweet glow of love and grace
Reluctantly I am leaving this glorious place
Pain beyond any I have ever known
My eyes slowly focus as I utter a pain filled groan
Doctors working frantically to save me
Knowing it’s not yet time for this life to set me free
