her shadow quivers.
(the hemisphere of
a potted plant cool -
a divisive mind.)
she stands in the soil.
she cannot move
for she’s been caught.
her breath catches,
her fingers wrought.
cucumber
at her desk
burns in hell -
pinches
the flame
