Avoid

Avoid the place
that suffocates you,
mistaken for care.

Avoid the place where
judgments and criticisms fly
mistaken for jokes.

Avoid the sermons that
breaks you down
mistaken for discipline.

Avoid the place where
people resides and rules
with pride and authority.

Avoid the place where
your voice shouldn't be heard,
for it is not required.

Avoid the place that
rules you with fear
mistaken for respect.

Avoid the place where
your heart can’t dream its own,
for it’s bounded by another.

For me,
all I have to avoid
is home.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
