Avalanche

It was all in the balance,
Freezing Artic weather,
Blizzards of falling snow,
Accumulating rapidly,
Just a matter of time,
The mountain held the weight,
It gathered,
Deeper and heavier,
But for how long?
How much could it hold?
Before turning,
Into a ticking time bomb,
Exploding and falling,
Most times unnoticed,
Regular occurrences,
From human eyes,
Other times masses,
Speeding,
Descending,
Turning deadly,
Changing course,
And firing its trigger,
Shattering like a pane of glass,
Too much too quickly,
Downhill powered,
The whole village,
Unexpected,
Thousands of innocent people,
Covered and wiped out,
Buried, 
Under the avalanche disasters,
