Autunm

An amber August afternoon
Dazzling leaves of brilliant colors;
orange, red, and yellow
beneath a placid blue sky

Hurried squirrels scamper
though clean green grass.

Yet, a day so dark;
a haunting disturbs
this empty heart.

Today I knelt
before your grave.
