Autumns Story
Coiling quickly the leaves roll
Tumbling towards a new home
Autumn's oranges,reds,and gold
Splatter my view surrounding me
Warmth from the sun steaming
The dewy wet leaves in the morn
So intricately placed in quite a pattern
Delicately across my front lawn
The musty smell of drying leaves
Smoldering through my soul
Leaving images of Soft fuzzy hats
And warm wooly sweaters
Driving towards the mountains
The flame of topaz, amber and sienna
Paint the sky with a backsplash
Contrasting its deep blue hues
No wonder this season thrills
It's colors changing rapidly
Such a short time left
To witness this seasons circle of life
Quickly I must catch it before its gone
Leaving only small remnants of life
That retires to its bed
Only to sleep like a bear till spring
