Autumn's Afterglow

There is a certain touch and feel
Of flannel, apple, and cinnamon peel
It takes us home to what we know
Let us rest in the autumnal glow

Again, flocks fly over my head
Cranberry and stuffing bread
As we wait for the cold undertow
Let us rest in the autumnal glow

Colored leaves in my window
Summer's but a fading echo
And as I watch this season go
Let us rest in the autumnal glow
