Autumn Wedding Dream
The wedding they’d dreamed of was carefully chosen
For brisk mid-autumn before the ground was frozen
As her freedom fighter struggled in the Mideast
She was absorbed in planning a fall wedding feast
A lively country band in the red barn would play
Magenta chrysanthemums would be her bouquet
Though many of his comrades never made it home
He returned to be wed ‘neath fall’s colorful dome
