Autumn Walk

a newborn chill in the air
the softest mist all around
a scented breeze sways my hair
with a sweet whispering sound
      instinctively I reach out
      for my love's warm hand
      as lovely autumn moves about
      this miraculously changing land
a fiery leaf floats gracefully
to kiss beautiful mother earth
she responds so lovingly
as she dreams of new birth
