Autumn Time

Fall leaves change color turning awesome bright,
Perchance to wither waiting winter's night.
Oft using autumn shades of festive hue,
alas to die except a stalwart few.
This light from yonder brilliant eye dims low,
all so soon we can feel approaching snow.
Sun softens days and makes the darkness deep.
when near his covered hovel one must keep.
Anon, a special day gives happy dreams,
then harvest time for pumpkin pie and creams.

I'm thinking of Thanksgiving here and the festive colors of leaves changing colors.
