Autumn Song
AUTUMN SONG
*************
Vivid colors appear upon the land
As if painted by an artist's hand
Beauty spreads to encompass all
Daybreak brings the wild geese call
The warmth of sunlight begins to chill
As the dew turns to frost atop the hill
Blackening clouds foretell early snow
Sadly the shorter days begin to show
Scents of Autumn I breathe in and hold
Though Winter will soon bring bitter cold
Beauty before the beast I say as I grin
The season that follows will be the Spring
