Autumn Morning
leaves of all colors
raining from the trees
not fierce
more sprinkle like
gently floating to ground
squirrels racing away
as I walk onto my porch
with my coffee.
Their fluffy tails
lingering a few seconds
behind their determined legs
my man is asleep
he works nights but this is okay
I like my solitude in the morning
I am finished with cuddles,
enjoying my day
Cat rubs against my legs
to claim me.
I reach down and give him a few pets
Dog shows up quickly
jealous so of course I have to
reward her too with a couple of pets
She likes them under the chin
I am glad for my fluffy robe and
faux fur lined slippers this morning
The air is cold on my face.
Showing me a glimpse of winter.
I smile, enjoying the idea of snow
