Autumn Fear
Autumn is here and memories bring fear
Of early darkness, the coming school year,
Difficult quizzes, speeches in front of class,
The cloudy days that dampen as breezes pass
While leaving summer friends makes me sad
Making new friends just makes me scared
When others think about hiking in the woods
The autumn foliage and delicious baked goods
My mind goes back to swimming in the pool
Jogging in the park and acting like a fool
I keep thinking about the long summer days
And how much I miss relaxing in a summer haze
