Autumn Dreams
The sun shines down warmly on the frost below
It changes to water and then starts to flow
As it heads downhill as it continues to grow
But it stops in its tracks as the cold wind blows.
Leaves explode in colors as they float through the air
Although they are dying they simply don't care
They finally make their decent down to the ground
When approached by the wind they make a rustling sound.
The air smells so fresh it breathes new life in me
As I look amazement and wonder of all that I see
The frost just vanished and appears as mist in the day
Soon it won't melt so it simply will stay.
The cold wind speaks to me it asks me to choose
Winter is coming win or lose
The leaves drift from one place to another and then back
As you pass through the threshold you see what you lack.
Darkness gets longer as the daylight is less.
Epitaphs on tombstones are the spirit's address
No one is left as the snow starts to fly
It seems autumn is upon us and summer has died.
With winter right behind me I can feel the freeze
The haunting shadows of trees without their leaves
Coldness so bitter a shiver goes up my spine
Love and hate become a very fine line.
I dream of warmer days when I bask in the sun
Running down the beach and splashing for fun
The faster time goes the faster I run
The Memories are lost as I come undone.
