Autumn Approaching

Rainy day here in the city Cooling us down from summer heat The steam from the sidewalk will eventually cease to rise Summertime is drawing to an end Cooler winds will soon prevail The time of firecrackers, and lazy beach days will soon make way for the time for football and the high holidays Soon the forest will be ablaze with red and gold colors Autumn is approaching Time continues its relentless onslaught The years are not always kind Yet I look forward to autumn In autumn light life becomes clearly delineated The autumn breezes will blow away sorrow and pain The autumn sun will shine down and with it happiness will return to the land Life is often bittersweet Yet, if we take our time We can enjoy the beginning of autumn
