Very haunting yet beautiful Leanne. Such a creative pen to express your thoughts. This poem has sadness and strength all at once.

Love this. Now those words, could be read many ways, have more than one meaning.

This is wonderfully phrased, and I assume from elsewhere, FOR elsewheres, (forgive me if mistaken) ... in that view, the beauty is in the mystery, for it originates somewhere very ethereal. I believe we are but tools for something greater, though my small mind will never know WHAT .. you have been blessed to have a strong connection with that, and we're blessed that you share it. Love this one, Lady L.

Well Gregory, I'm not religious at all. In fact, I think religion is a bad thing. It has created an enormous amount of strife and despair in this world. I would say I am very open minded (with a lot of things) and obviously spiritual. Highly intuitive. For a long time prior to Dec 2017, I had just about given up writing. Certainly had not written poetry since my late teens, early 20's. Perhaps with all this poetry writing and internalisation a message has been trying to make it's voice heard. I think if anyone has read my other profile and even within this profile, there has been a thread of thought that weaves it's way into a poem every now and again. It's coming through loud and clear with this poem. Perhaps it's a message not only just from my mother. Thanks for the lovely comment.

Heck, I only learnt there was more to it this morning Arturo. I am very open minded on a lot of topics Arturo, through life experience - I am also hungry for learning and acquiring knowledge not only through my self-internalisation and research on topics, during the writing/creative process, but from what I read from all the writers I read here (for these words you all write, are from your higher self...even the demented ones lol); but this thread that worms its way into my poems every once and a while, certainly has had me hooked for some time and as I mentioned to Gregory above, perhaps the message is not entirely from my mother. x

The video had me stunned, maybe the way the fishes looked, and the lyrics are enchanting...I knew there was more to it, but the fist impression always hold, in most cases just for a while...but as you explain I began to understand even more, and can appreciate how you wrote this piece and all the others... truly a wonderful contribution you make to this site...I'm really happy you're here...

The Burton Motto The motto was originally a war cry or slogan. Mottoes first began to be shown with arms in the 14th and 15th centuries, but were not in general use until the 17th century. Thus the oldest coats of arms generally do not include a motto. Mottoes seldom form part of the grant of arms: Under most heraldic authorities, a motto is an optional component of the coat of arms, and can be added to or changed at will; many families have chosen not to display a motto. BURTON Motto: "LUX VITAE". Motto Translation: The Light is my guide.

Well this is going to sound really off the wall Arturo, some writers here may get it, some won't. Sometimes when I write, I feel that it is not me writing...like I am not me, I've exited my mind, and someone or some force of power has taken up that space and writes through me. I usually ascribe this to the "Higher Self/Soul". In this case, with this particular poem, it was my mother, Lynette, who passed away at 32years from Cancer. When my mother crossed over, I had just turned 9, my younger sisters were 7.5yr, 5.5yr. I wrote this quite late at night early morning, a couple of days ago and posted it immediately. This is a message from my mother to myself and my sisters. Or so I'd like to think.

The video is telling the story from her perspective. In the video, you will notice there are 5 fish to begin. There were 5 in our family,my mother,my father,3 sisters. The three fish in the video are myself and my sisters. My father passed away in 2010;he was 36yr when my mother crossed over.He was a single parent under duress. On another note, uncannily,Georgia,my daughter, was born many years later to arrive on same date as my mother's date of death.Green signifies LIFE, youth.Blue depression.Green was also my mother's favourite colour, this for K, M who would be too young to remember.Furthermore,Ichthys, or with a lunate sigma, is an acronym or acrostic for Iesous Christos,Theou Yios, Soter;contemporary Koine ,which translates into English as 'Jesus Christ, Son of God,[Our] Savior'.Symbol/Fish.To which I say at this point in my life,I am in awe of the motto on mine and my sisters' BURTON crest (our own father's name),"LUX VITAE".Beautiful story, hey? I think so."BELIEVE".True Magic.x

However, re video...could also be from my perspective or that of my sisters' perspective and my father's. For other PS or off-PS site readers, who I didn't write this poem for (I exclusively wrote it for my sisters), there is a message in the Video's words that perhaps some will relate very well to. And to those, who don't believe, or give a rat's you know what, I really don't care. I'm controversial remember...x, this poem is for my two younger sisters, my daughter...and for my extended family and true friends. regards, le Loco. :)
