autistic at a dinner party

a lasagne, 5 layers
pasta, tomato and cheese
5 layers
repetitive layers to build a dish
a conversation
5 layers
15 layers
100 layers i miss
i hear you but i’m not listening
100 layers
when to speak
where to look
what you mean with what you say
why are you looking at me
why does it matter what i say
what makes you think it matters what you say
100 layers
what matters
what is important
i cannot read the room
i cannot read you
i hope you cannot read me
i don’t understand
100 layers
when does it end
how long do we talk until we realise it’s finished
does it finish
or do you decide to stop speaking
when do i decide to stop speaking
or in my case decide to start speaking
i don’t want to speak
100 layers
i’ll watch you speak
when you are finished i will know
somebody else will lead to let me know
i think you're finished
i’m not sure if you’re finished
100 layers
i will be finished
can you tell i don't want to talk
i shouldn’t have spoken in the first place
i wont speak in the first place
are you finished speaking
we’re finished here
i’m not sure what part i missed but i know i did
i wont stay for dinner
i shouldn’t have come at all
i hope you don’t think im being rude when you offer me a plate
your lasagne is in the oven
but i will turn it away
i’ve already dealt with all the layers i can today

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
