Australian King Parrot

Scarlet green exotic plume bird
on occasions, endemic to the wooded
eucalyptus plot in torrid upper reach
red winged flyer, blue stripe and grey beak
species found in outer suburb niche,
northern Sydney beach, or steep-faced
deep ravine in parts of Queensland.
They can be such a charming pet when raised
in aviaries, devoted, saying very little but
of warm and fair attachment all the same

I have seen some real live parrots, but I don't know if they are this particular species though. Anyway, if they are the same species they are beautiful birds. Thank you for sharing this one with us and bringing them to light. Sara K

Love the greenies. The blue mountain parrots in Tasmania were so beautiful when I was a girl growing up there. SuZ
