Notes About The Poem

Notes: In Singapore, we celebrate the countdown
to the Chinese Lunar New Year with a public display
of road decor. The roads along the Chinatown area
are decked with auspicious symbols of spring. This
Incoming year is a Golden Goat year, and there is an
official light-up ceremony held on Saturday, January
31st at the People's Park vicinity with the entire street
closed to traffic from 2:00pm to 11:00pm to accommodate
the human crowd that gathers around Chinatown.

Auspicious

See the Chinatown roads:
Prosperous golden goats,
Rich festive decor loads,
In sky arches like boats,
Note how spring animates,
Gather this ample sea.
Feast on the ultimate,
Explore spring charms with me;
Sea of human faces,
Thrill of ceremony;
Ideas of spring graces,
Voice and fireworks set free;
Auspicious customs prompt,
Lunar New Year informs.
