Aura of Haze

wrapped in summer's
aura of haze
an almost full moon
alternately
bursts forth and withdraws
withdraws and springs forth
plays 'peek-a-boo'
with this nyctophiliac

I love this, Gershon! You are speaking my language. I've always been a night owl. :) Rhonda xx

You're not giving yourself enough credit. You are definitely a hoot ;)

You give me too much credit, Rhonda. I've never been able to speak the language of the night owl worth a hoot! :) gw

And just think: Nyctophiliac rhymes with sacrosiliac! Now there's 1/2 a poem for you. LOL. Take care, Heidi!

Brilliant write, Gershon! I'm adding this to my FAV poem list. I think I've done only one imagism poem, and I would like to do more. Thank you for the incentive. I also appreciate your use of the word "nyctophiliac." Like Caren, this was a new word for me. Take care and stay safe! ~Mark

Whoa. Thanks for the FAVE, Mark. Always a treat for me! As for 'nyctophiliac,' I learned the word from one of Edward Ibeh's great poems. Hats off to him! Smiles, Gershon

nyctophiliac? What! I am looking this up right this second. Yes, it is a thing. For others who want to know. A nyctophiliac is someone who is attracted to darkness or light, who finds comfort in the night. Thank you for teaching me a new word!

I figure, it beats being an insomniac. Edward Ibeh taught me the word in one of his poems. Hats off to him! Thanks, Caren.
