Aunt Gail
Aunt Gail has passed
and I have not much emotion
neither did she
after years of pills drained her
I never knew she was anything but happy
She was the first smile that greeted me
while all the other adults ignored me
She was 5'1 maybe
and we would compare our heights
until I became too tall
and she became too sad
I always wondered how that joy and love
could be stripped
I never had that type loss
to understand hers
I always thought that smile would come back
but it didn't
She gave me so much love and joy as a child
and I did not give back
RIP Aunt Gail
