August Sun

it was late august afternoon
gleefully the sun glistened
the birds performing all in tune
i stopped and restfully listened
cast my troubles far behind
vacating turmoil brood internal
it was my current state of mind
believing youth to be eternal

Meaning I have maintained my intellectual freedom and life choices. The body is another matter. Like flowers, we bloom, wither and one day,disappear to another form.
