Thanks Maureen, my Sis in the LORD. As Kant would intimate "The Universalizing l Principle" gave us human rationality which is holy, and we ought NOT use people as "means to our ends." Glad U remember all Human losses and pain, as in 6-7 August 1945. shalom, shalom ADD+ (I had to retype comment 3X becos of "evil" technology)

I am reminded of these words by the great Pete Seeger: "If I had a bell / I'd ring it in the morning / I'd ring it in the evening / All over this land / I'd ring out danger / I'd ring out a warning / I'd ring out love between / My brothers and my sisters, / All over this land. I love the idea of a Peace Bell. May we never forget. Hugs ~ John

It is a beautiful bell tower. Erected in honour on the fallen of the first world war. Hugs and thank you, xomo

You know, how quickly we forget the anguish and destruction... Thanks for the wake-up call. ~ Gershon

We need to be reminded. I miss living close enough to hear the Peace Tower’s bells, I would have stopped whatever I was doing to stand at attention. xomo

A horrible way to die likewise by kamikaze. Peace would be nice. Love each other. My husband was in China wanted sushi. His companions wouldn’t go, said they hated the Japanese for what they had done to them. My son had a Navy uniform on in Chicago. We went for Sushi and they never came to our table. My D-I-L is from Guam. Her great-grandfather was killed by the Japanese as her his dad looked on but many forgive in Guam. Just sad, all the way around. So many stories!

Golden Transparent: by the light of an apple/I saw the earth, and it was green and good./under the dust it almost glowed. Gorged/I laid in the back of the station wagon...

A great poetry read: Desert Fathers, Uranium Daughters by Debora Greger. Her dad’s plant made the plutonium for the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. The dust she lived in and went to school in was radioactive. An interesting read. Here’s a portion from Adam’s Daughter:

So weird typing Pigeon Tart, BUT so say you. I think I told you my wife is Japanese. WE met a Japanese woman pumping gas. She had survived Nagasaki. An amazing woman with an amazing story, BUT YOU of all people should know I try to see the entire bloom, not just the blossom. As a Norm MacDonald fan, Canadian oui? said Yoko Ono gave a concert for the Hiroshima survivors. When asked, one woman said, "It was the most horrible thing I lived through." (Yoko Ono singing???-and I'm a Beatles fan LOL.)

Jeffy!!! My dear friend! I saw this floating around: If 2020 was a film, it would be a Stephen King story, directed by Quintin Terantino, with soundtrack by Yoko Ono. ;), Must be a helluva time to be a postie. Craziness. Miss ya! Hope you are well. Mo hugs ~x

Peace in our time ???? I watched a couple of documentary on tv regarding this before going to bed last night. Just exactly how much has been spent on nuclear weapons is beyond comprehension P.T Ir should i rather say we are actually still spending on them Frightening

What is even more frightening is the billions of dollars the USA spends every year promoting conflict around the world to increase the sale (and profit) of American munitions and military equipment! Just imagine how different this world would be if American taxpayers funded PEACE! Aloha! Rico

I can kind of understand that best not to awaken up the beast. Would they even bother listening anyway i fear it would be a waste of time and breath

Will have to settle for a clock tower named “Peace” for now. Canada doesn’t own any, but we’re still too friendly not saying boo to our neighbour. sigh. xomo

How sad that 75-years later, humanity still does not realise ALL bombs, landmines, grenades, etc., must be banned! If you want to fight, do it mano a mano to avoid harming innocents! Quite right that ears ring eternal even though they may no longer hear! Aloha! Rico
