Augtober

Pumpkin spice wafts through the air
To spite the summer heat
I'm already planning what to wear
When I trick-or-treat

Buying back-to-school supplies
Or buying bags of candy
It's important to prioritize
What most will come in handy

Sugar skulls and jack-o'-lanterns
Are grinning from the shelves
And soon these cheerful phantoms
Will be joined by jolly elves

It's so hard to deal with August
When it's trying to be October
But if I'm really honest
I'll be sad when it's all over.
