Audience Falls Silent
The audience falls silent last night
When my songs shine a bright light.
Some fearless folks with fight or flight
Some dearest darlings with delight
My songs were last in line,
The other songs were fine.
Yet mine were like red wine
You drink it, you’re divine.
My voice never missed the bull’s eye
It breathes the blackbird’s peaceful sigh.
That could explain how they comply
To the sound of void they rely
The audience remains silent still
Could it be chills or just some skill?
How were these poor faces so thrilled?
My songs are done, the theatre’s filled.
