Aubrey Mcgovern

Aubrey McGovern was never too fat or so thin He worked very hard, but he had time to grin His T model ford was a nasty mean creature Jump into gear and could be coming to meet ya He used to chain her up before he wound the crank handle It came surging and rearing and revving to amble Aub delivered the mail to the stations out west…(Aussie Ranches) A few loaves of bread , potato’s and the rest The car would attack him when he opened a gate And canter on through early or late…. The old sulky horse in the past had been good Old horse he would wait till Aub said he could A bit hard to catch was old Wrinklie hide Aub said “tin of camp pie the horse was inside”(couldn’t get it out of tin blamed Wrinkle) On the grog old Aub once saw the devil His pitchfork was raised at Aubrey the rebel Aubrey replied with the boiling spuds pot Old Nick rushed away just shrieking a lot…..Don Johnson Aubrey Gordon Joseph McGovern was my story telling friend when I was little. He had trouble with his T model Ford jumping into gear and taking off on its own little trips circling to return and knock down the fence etc. He was born on Brenda station around 1900 near Hebel town. There were 3 boys but none married so no descendants survive.

Enjoyed reading a piece of your life, those older ones who took time with us as a child are special people. Enjoyed... I live in Georgia, the state record deer was killed on my road last year. Our house sits in the middle of 2 thousand acres of hunting land. We don't own it. We have a hard time having any flowers or trees.
