At the Window

Always someone at the window Looking out onto the street Always some curious face Man or woman Young or old At the window Looking out onto the street, The passing crowd unaware Of the eyes that roam Glance, probe and stare, Rise above Condescend Pass judgment, Float and filter through The thick congested air, Always some curious face At the window Looking out onto the street.
