At the Waters' Edge

Soft tinkle of the stream

Took me from my doze

I cupped the precious water

Drank deeply

In its’ midst

I spied a gleam

Silvery stars

Shimmered below the waters’ surface

Such liquidity

In water

Running free

I put my face in to the stream

The stars I could see

In another world

In another dream

At the waters’ edge

Stars flowed in

Stars flowed out

Gentle tide

That took me

In liquidity

To places I could never hide
