-At The Hands Of The Untoward

How much my heart breaks for you
A victim straight out of the womb
Life dealt you a horrendous hand
One of abuse and doom

A little boy abused from two years old
Rejected …. given to another
Brutalised , lied to, blamed
A life of abuse you continued to suffer

Now an older man
Soft hearted and kind
Suffering badly from PTSD
A fragile, troubled mind

Alone with your beloved dog
Surrounded by your hoard
Doing the best you can
Damaged at the hands of the untoward

I am glad you call me your friend
We laugh and chat for hours
Though l am shocked and saddened by your life story
At the hands of despicable evil cowards

A truly tragic tale, Deb, but with you as a ray of light. They say ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ and, to this gentleman, you must be exactly that.

I might add there is a genocide happening right now, over 30,000 children dead, the same amount or more suffering right now, apparently very few tears here for them.

You have no idea how touching this is, I actually met someone here, years ago, abused at 3 on-wards, he passed away recently at a young age, he became my brother, I could say so much more...

Dear Deb, this poem is very emotional. As a trauma survivor, it was hard for me to read this poem but every line hit me right in the heart. Beautifully written. Especially this line "A victim straight out of the womb". Best, Anne

So sad Deb, no child deserves to be ill treated, it hurts to read about it. It’s very good of you to be a friend to someone who suffered abuse in childhood… Beryl

Dear debx, how kind of you to be their friend, and yes its so sad and unfair how some face trauma so early and are left with nothing but haunting memories. You are such a beautiful soul! Pleasure reading this! Sending you light always
